Monday fun day!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey blogging world,

So on the 11th of December we had a wheels and mufti day. On wheels day everyone brings some wheels like a scooter, bike, skateboard and anything else with wheels. On the day everyone had to wear mufti and bring a gold coin donation we also had to bring togs to swim or go on the slip and slide. We had three sessions on the day

First session was the Pool/swim, Slip and slide and the relaxing area 

Second session was the games T-ball, Capture the flag and the chill zone

Third session was wheels we could play with our wheels and the chill zone.

The day was really really fun but also really really hot everyone kept on complaining about how it was burning. My favourite session would have to be the pool and slip and slide because the pool was really fun the water was warm it was about 26 degrees. Also I really loved the slip and slide because it was really fun to slide down really fast with all the soap coming on me and making me slide down really fast. I also loved relaxing in the nice warm sun with my friends just talking and watching everyone else have fun. As the day went on and we moved from session to session the day was starting to get hotter and hotter and people started get tired and tired and tired until the day was over. I really loved the day because it was fun to play and be with my friends throughout the day playing games and having fun. Here are photos of the day

Gala day !!!!!!

Hey Bloggers,
So this term in school we had a really fun celebration day. It was held at our school Waikowhai primary on the 25th of November. The day was really really fun there were performances and food and games and many more. After the fun day was over at school we were told to create some thinking hats about it. We had to use our thinking caps and crate at least 6 sentences about what we thought about. We were also told to add some pictures to it to make it look really fun and cool. I had fun doing that because it was fun to think back at memories and have a laugh while we are writing. I also had fun writing with my friends because it was cool to heard what they did while we were not together. Here is the sideshow of the things I did 

 It was fun to see that everyone was happy and loved the gala day. I thought it was great to see everything come together at they end and everyone leaving with a smile. Inquiry, Inquiry and more inquiry!!!!!!

         Hey Blogging World,

In Class this week we have been working on our inquiry products for our school gala day. My Class product Is Tote Bags. We chose tote bags to change the way of using plastic bags because it is killing animals.  

Step 1- For making a tote bag would be to get the fabric you need, we used Calico and normal fabric.

Step 2 -Sew your back and your front piece of fabric together and also any other bits you would like to add.

Step 3 -Fold the top part of you bag and the sew around then fold it again and sew around again to make it tight.

Step 4- Add some straps to your bag and sew a square next sew a x inside the square do the to all four sides.

After that it should look like this 

Something I found hard during the process would be sewing and finding something the go well together and the sewing was hard because I didn't really know how to use a sewing machine but I found out really fast. Something I liked about making tote bags was being with my friends and learning a lot of new things. Also I like how it is gonna change the world and make a big difference. I learnt a lot of new thing like how to sew with a sewing machine and also how to screen print to do some designs and use a squidgy. I loved making tote bags because it was fun to use some things that I had never used before or even seen.Something I thought was good about this was how it was going to save the world and make it a better place .Also something I thought was bad about this was that it was sort of hard to put things together.Something I thought was ugly about my work would be some of my designs I made some mistakes and things .Tote bags are sustanible because we can reuse then over and over again. In maths these past few weeks we have been working on a maths travelling slideshow through Auckland. On the slideshow we have a budget of $5500 dollars . We were told to chose different kinds of activities for different days then add up our total cost for the day. We had to chose for different kinds of hotels and activities and also try to keep in the budget we had. For my budget I was so close I got the total of $4945.18 cents. This game was fun because it got to test us with not just chosing the fun things and try chosing the cheap things. On most of the slides there was a lot things that I had not done before so I could have chosen anything. During the process of doing this there was a lot of different places that we went to like Palmerston north, back to Auckland,Omaru and many more. here is a picture

I learnt a lot from this slideshow like what kinds of hotels and activities we could do. I loved doing this because it was fun to learn new things and work with my friends and have fun. I think I did pretty good I didn't go over the budget so I was happy for myself. Something I could do next time would be to chose things that I like not just the ones that are cheap. Novel Learning!!!!!!!!!

Hey Bloggers,                                                       This term in reading we have been filling in a reading book review. The book that I have been reading was Dunger. Dunger is a really interesting book that sort of goes in a pattern. It goes something bad happens then something good or fun happens. During the process of reading books we where also filling in different parts of the book review. In book review we had a lot of things to do which was in different parts of the book. The book review had a lot of different things like describe somebody from the book, Write the start the end and the finish, words that you don't know and many more. Here picture 

So Melissa is one of the main characters in the book so I wrote about her. On this page we had to write about one of the main character and use Build your wild self.  So the book was about A girl and Boy named William ad Melissa who have been roped into helping their old hippie Grandparents fix up their holiday home in the middle of the sounds. They'll have no electricity. no cellphone reception and only each other for company. As far as they are concerned this is NOT a holiday. Cross country

Hello Bloggers,
On the 12 of September we had a very FUN and a very HARD cross country day. On that day everyone was so excited and scared at the same time because we were going to have a run. We had six stations, 5 were playing games 1 was to get the runners warmed up and the last one was the running station there was also people helping on the course. It was really funny when I was running because It was a little muddy and I nearly slipped while I was running. When we had to line up at the starting line I had butterfly's in my stomach because I was really scared that I was going to lose and people where going to laugh at me.  I did not come last out of the year six girls I actually came 1st. I had a lot of fun when I was running because it was so fun to try a new course from last year's one. Take a look at some pictures of the day.

I had a really fun time running and helping out on the day and it was also fun to be with my friends.  I would like to say a big thank you to Ms Sands(My teacher) for preparing the day and all the other Teachers for helping out. Hey Bloggers,

it's Caitlin and a few weeks ago we had a exciting trip to MT RUAPEHU.  We took a lot of pictures and everyone had an amazing time. We made a slideshow of some things that we did there and added some pictures to it. I really liked it there because I loved spending time with my friends and it was really fun to learn something new. I loved skiing because it was so fun skiing down the hill and going on the chair lift back up. The first day was lesson day and I sort of liked it 80 percent  because we got to learn how to ski but the other 20 percent I didn't really like it because of when I was trying it myself and it was hard but it takes a lot of practise. The second day was really fun because I got the hang of it and I was skiing by myself with no help. Also the other fun thing that I did was go up a higher level which would have been Rock Garden further up the mountain. Also we did a lot of other fun and exciting things like we had a challenge at the Hamilton Gardens. We also had another challenge at the Ed Hillary Walkway. Crazy Science

Hey bloggers,
today in our school hall we had a science show with one of the best scientists called Richard. I saw a lot of tricks that I didn't even know about and you could only do because of science. One of the tricks he did was he had a red ball in his hand and he threw the ball away and another ball appeared in his mouth. One of the tricks he did was done with rings. So he linked them together and he took them out again. One of the things we also talked about was water ( H2O) which is used to make a lot of things dissolve or come together .The show was based on chemicals which are put into a lot of things. Chemical reactions are made when two  or more things are mixed. One of the other things he talked about was actually about a nappy. If you take the powder from a baby's nappy and mix it with water it would go solid that was another thing that he taught us. Something else he taught us was that if you put water in a cup with a lid not a screw on lid and put a tablet in it then it will explode. The last thing that he did was mostly just play with bubbles and made bigger and bigger. I was wondering how he got the rings to link together and how he took them out again.I also wonder how soap and water create that kind of bubble mixture. Taekwondo Challenge

Hey everyone,
In Taekwondo this week we have been learning how to scissor kick. We had had a big challenge to see who could kick the highest and touch the pad. As we where kicking the pad it kept on going higher and higher. The rules were:

• If you do not scissor kick your out
• If you kick and touch the pad but your hand touches the ground your out
• If you miss the pad your out 

So it was a tough challenge for most of us               Also through out the term we learnt about using power
punch and about doing a double knee kick. Our instructor
Mame tough us to use our arms and legs and be strong
and never give up. Doing Taekwondo I learnt a lot of
things that I didn't know you could do in Taekwondo. I
Really liked doing this because it is really fun to learn new
things and be with new people and have fun doing it.I also came second out of the whole school but this amazing kicker named Dorothy came first .Please

Animals are dying in winter=(

Hello everyone,
I am back with another post of my learning for you guys. In Literacy we had some tasks to do and we were told to post something from the task board. I chose what do animals do in winter because I thought It was really cool and sad to see what kinds of animals struggle to find food and shelter. I also chose this because it is really cool to learn different things about different animals and what they do out side. I really liked doing this because writing is in my top five favourite subjects as I was writing this it reminded me of when we has to take our kitten to the vet to get checked. I learnt something from this article like in winter some animals  struggle to find food and shelter sometimes. They can't find food because it is cold and most animals stay somewhere warm. I felt sorry and happy for these animals like the bears because at least they can find some food to keep them alive. Hey learners, 

Welcome back to my blog so in maths we did a really fun activity that included clay and many more  here are the materials .

• cardboard 

We were told to make a tent because it is sort of relevant to our camp that we are having this year at Mt Ruapehu.  So this task is mostly about us using our brains and thinking about how is it going to stand or is this going to protect you or someone.  Also this task is about being careful and taking your time instead of rushing. There was one problem that I had and It was when the tent kept on falling down and breaking. I think because I was rushing and doing it a little bit rough so I needed to try do it calmly. Something that was good and I liked Is that my last choice that I tried actually worked. Something else that I liked was trying new things and working with new things to make something. Some shapes I used was square and triangle and some rectangle. Something that I learned was that trying your best and not giving up is better than not trying . I was Trying to make a normal tent but also try to make it a little creative by leaving some spaces through the sides and so a lot more air can come in. In cyber smart today we have been stalking people on the web ( but not in a bad way). We had to look of google to see if we could find other people from our school. I really liked this because i got to see some funny pictures that I didn't even know was on the web. When I saw most of these photos I got the picture of what happened a long time ago. Most of these pictures where easy to find because they where just there when I typed it. Also when i typed up something the thing that I wanted didn't show but I saw the photo way down when I scrolled. I learned that there was a lot more photos that I didn't know where on an some that i liked and I really liked doing this. Thanks bye=)

Rocket lab facts

	WAS SURPRISED ABOUT	I was surprised about the artwork because it looks realistic even from a distance.   I was also surprised about the earthquake demolishing 80 percent of buildings in the central business.  Another thing I was surprised about was them doing artwork of people’s things that have been lost.

 Talofa lava Learners,
Welcome to my blog. I have been posting a lot of my work in 2017 and working hard on it so please make sure to comment and check them out. My blog shows a lot of the things that we do in school and in class. We had a ceremony to open the new class with a special guest Mr Wood and a performance from our Kapa Hakka group with two nice songs.Also there was a sign that was made from a fabulous artist Ms sands she made a sign that said Te Waka Ako which means the canoe of learning.There was a ribbon that was cut by Mr Wood to finally open the class rooms.

In term two we moved into an exciting building with all the senior school students. We had to write in all sorts of hats to understand about what we were feeling. Doing the hats I learned that we have a lot more to learn about the classes and the students. Also I learned that we need to respect a lot of people and things around the class rooms because we need to learn to work with different people. All the challenges that I faced was getting everything ready and trying to work with a hole lot of people that I don't usually hang out with. Another one of my challenges was having to leave the old class rooms because there were a lot of funny memories in there. I think there going to start adding some more buildings and have a lot of nice people working there or going school there. Thank you for reading my exciting day in the new classes hop you liked it. Caesar The Anzac dog

This is my Caesar the Anzac Dog slideshow. Caesar was a great dog even though he passed in war. We shall remember him and the soldiers that died too. Caesar was a red cross dog who was trained to find wounded soldiers lying deep or in the mud. I thought the story was was a really sad story because of how Caesar died, but at least we still have his collar in the museum to remember him. He was fighting side by side with a man named tom who had a  incident and went blind. Make sure to look at all my other 2017 work posts.

Trench Diary

Hi everyone this is my trench diary it is about what I hear,see,taste,smell,feel and think. It was really fun doing this and actually believing that I was there. I also liked doing what I thought was going to happen on everything and telling what I wanted to say.  Make sure to check out my post of my other work in 2017 but check this one out.

WALT describe using our senses

	As I walk up the trench I see wounded soldiers and some that died lying there on the ground.I see rats eating all the flesh out of the missing soldiers.
	I can hear all the gunshots going back and forth and all the ear screeching explosions landing in many different places.I can also hear the soldiers crying that they will never see their family again.
	I can taste the dirty muddy air going into my mouth and the old taste of the soft biscuits . The old canned food making my tummy ache .
	I can smell the dirty soldiers in old uniforms mixed with dirty muddy boots. I can smell. I can also smell dirty rats nearby getting ready to eat.
	I can feel the cold skin from all the rain that was pouring down from the sky on us. I feel the soft watery mud squishing with my foot and the hard tins that we have for breakfast,lunch and dinner.
	My heart is pounding as I get ready for the war I pick up my with my heart pounding a million miles. I dropped hoping this was just a dream I pulled the trigger then kapow.
	I think I am going to pass because of the bad food I always think that someone is holding a sniper to my head. The worst one is I always think I am going to be battling alone.
